Kumasi, Ghana – April 23, 2025
As part of the “WAD Impact 2025” initiative, the Publishing Departments of the South Central Ghana Conference (SCGC) and Mid-Ghana Union Conference (MGUC) led a massive distribution of Spirit of Prophecy books across Kumasi, aiming to share Christ through literature.
A key moment of the outreach was a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Prof. Akosua Dickson, by a delegation of church leaders including Pr. Richard Armah Tandoh (MGUC), Pr. Samuel Agyemang (SCGC), and Dr. Samuel Antwi Mensah (President, SCGC).
During the visit, the church expressed appreciation for the university’s respect for religious liberty, particularly for its more than 5,000 Adventist students. A request was made for a worship space on campus, to which the VC responded that a new Christian worship center is already underway and will be open to all denominations.
Prof. Martin Akotey, Rector of Valley View University (VVU), proposed academic collaboration between VVU and KNUST, which was positively received. The VC also appealed to the church to support financially challenged students.
The meeting ended with a mutual exchange of gifts. The university presented KNUST souvenirs to the delegation, while the church donated assorted Spirit of Prophecy books and over 300 copies of The Great Controversy for the university’s libraries.
This event highlighted the power of literature ministry and reinforced the growing partnership between the Adventist Church and KNUST in both faith and service.
